Hey, everyone!!  It is the G.A.M.E.S. CLUB Meet tonight! (stands for Games, Anime, Movies, Entertainment and Snacks!) (What would we do without those!!) We will meet tonight upstairs in the Youth Dept. from 5:30 to 7:30, old and new friends are welcome to join in!! This club is for teens ages 13 to 17 ONLY! Meet our teen coordinators and discuss upcoming programming. This group will meet regularly 2 times per month on Thursday nights.

Who doesn’t love a great convention?!?!? Midsummer Scream is the world’s largest Halloween and Horror Convention, often described as Southern California’s kick-off of the Halloween season. Join David Markland, Executive Director & Co-Founder of Midsummer Scream, and Jeff DePaoli, host of “That Halloween Podcast”, as they talk all about these fantastic haunted experiences around the country!

Designed for all ages 10 mo. to 17 years. This years theme features the idea of conservation, protecting species from extinction, maintaining and restoring habitats. Not only is reading good for us, it is also a restorative method of self-improvement and self preservation. We will have fun programs throughout the day, raffles as well!! Can’t make it today? Join us all teens ages 13 to 17 as we begin a new Club!! What can we explore as we banter together about food, travel, books, crafts and sooo much more?! Come and share your ideas, bring friends on the following dates: June 26, July 10 & 24, and Aug. 7 & 21, from 2:30-5:30 in the Youth Dept. (2nd floor)! Our theme this summer is Adventure Begins at Your Library: Read, Renew, Repeat!

Each time you check out a book, attend a program, chat with a librarian, volunteer, etc. you will receive a ticket (to be obtained from a library staff member at the desk), which you pop into the designated Teen Raffle Jar. Weekly prizes, and all will be given the chance to win the grand prize, a Kindle Fire 7 to be drawn at the end of this summer event!

Instead of 7 movies per month, you’ll now get 21 tickets to use each month. Each movie will be assigned a ticket value, so some will be two tickets and others may be more. Before you hit “Play,” you will be able to see a ticket value and how many days you’ll have to view each title. The ticket system will also apply to The Great Courses.

The Bigelow Free Public Library has formed a partnership with Driving-Tests.org to offer FREE practice exams for RMV permits, car, motorcycle, and CDL licenses. 

The Massachusetts-specific exams are easily accessible. The collection includes Spanish versions of road sign practice exam and MA Driver’s Handbook. The site also include frequently asked questions about obtaining a Massachusetts driver’s license.

“This is just one more way we can help our patrons succeed with online resources,” says library director, Marie Letarte. The practice exams and electronic handbooks are accessible from home, as well as in the library.
