Trustee Minutes August 18, 2016
Meeting came to order at 6:00pm
All active Trustees were present: G. Parkinson, W. Neil, C. Keiger, K. Nugent, R. Grady
Karen Nugent motioned to approve minutes of July as amended. W. Neil seconded. All approved.
No Public Comment
Susan Franco resigned due to health problems. Board of Selectmen & Trustees will have a joint meeting to discuss and/or appoint a new trustee to sit until June.
Old Business
Wendy Neil made a motion to allow the library director to have authority to discipline employees: including three written and/or verbal warnings for performance or conduct issues up to a five-day maximum suspension. If issue continues, the action will go to the Board of Trustees. Karen Nugent seconded. Approved by G. Parkinson, W. Neil, C. Keiger, K. Nugent. Not approved: R. Grady
Director reported a donation in honor of Dee Wuth, new fan in the women’s room, accidental fire drill and library usage for July.
The board will invite town counsel Robert Gibbons to the next meeting
The library will close, per custom, at 1pm the day before Thanksgiving.
The library will close on Christmas Eve & New Years Eve because they are both on a Saturday. Approved: G. Parkinson, W. Neil, C. Keiger, K. Nugent Abstained: R. Grady
