Borrowing Privileges to De-Certified Libraries
Bigelow Free Public Library extends reciprocal borrowing privileges to residents of
municipalities in Massachusetts that have certified libraries that are in compliance with
the state’s Minimum Standard for Public Library Service (Massachusetts General Law Ch. 78, Section 19B1 & 6).
However, the Bigelow Free Public Library will not extend reciprocal borrowing
privileges to those patrons of libraries that do not meet the Minimum Standards or have
been decertified. Patrons are free to come into the library and use our resources and
attend programs here, but they cannot take Bigelow Library materials out of the library
in such circumstances.
